See you on the other side!!!!
Last year I had food poisoning for New Year's Eve, and this year, I'm down with a crappy cold that wants to kill my head!!!
As I cough and bark, and reach for yet another tissue to clear whatever mess is inside of me, I wish you all a brilliant 2013!
If being sick on New Year's Eve again, means 2013 will be as good as 2012, then I'll take New Year Sickness over and over:-)
Chat soon when I get back from the brink!!! xxxx Louise

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
It's that time folks when we're all about to batten down the hatches and spend time with loved one. I sincerely wish you all a very Merry Christmas and an amazing 2013.
I'm saying my goodbyes for a while as hibernation is setting in until end January 2013 (my deadline for finishing the current novel), but you never know, I might get tempted to pop in every now and again.
MERRY CHRISTMAS |
In the meantime, I want to thank you all for the support throughout 2012, especially those of you who bought copies of Red Ribbons, even some of you who bought them as Christmas pressies - you are all amazing!!!!
So I leave you with an Christmas image from our cottage sitting room at home - Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

Beautifully Haunting Images
Yes, you've all guessed it, I've been in hiding for the last few days with the deadline for finishing the first draft of 'The Doll's House' getting pretty close. So all in all I will be a bit of a recluse over the next short while as this fictional world eats into my reality, but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.
I'm also doing quite a bit of research at the moment, including experiencing being hypnotized this coming Friday - so that will be something! Again, I hope it will all be worth it in the end, but I'll let you know how I get on!!!
But before I go all things Doll's House, I wanted to give you a few screenshot images from the New Trailer for Red Ribbons which will be coming out early next year. In my opinion they are each hauntingly beautiful, and I honestly can't thank the media student of the ITT enough for working with me on this creative project.

7 Tower Reading at The Twisted Pepper
Reading & discussion with Eamonn Lynskey |
Thanks to all who attended the reading and open discussion with Eamonn Lynskey of the 7 Towers Literary Group yesterday. It was a lovely relaxed lunchtime event, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting about writing, the creation of Red Ribbons, and how I ended up as a Crime Writer!
Eamonn touched on a number of areas surrounding the creative process, one of them being my early love of reading. All of you who know a little bit about me, know I'm a great endorser of libraries, having developed a love of reading in early childhood because of being able to borrow books from our local library, and as I've often said before, I wouldn't be the reader and therefore the writer I am today, had it not been for this support.
Another area I spoke about with Eamonn, was my writing in my late teens and early twenties - which was encouraged and rejuvenated by an English teacher who opened up the world of literature to me in such an impressionable way.
Yesterday's chat got me thinking once again about this great teacher of English, how he believed in me all those two hundred million years ago, thinking I had something special when it came to writing. Again, some of you might know that I'd abandoned my writing for nearly 25 years, and the reasons are many and varied, and in some ways still unclear. Anyhow (my fav crutch word), I made the decision today to follow through on a thought that has been in my mind for a very long time - trying to find my old English teacher.
I have no idea if the man is still alive, but I can tell you for sure, he was remarkable. I attended night classes with him at Mount Street VEC while working full time for over two years. I still have my old class notes, and all the writing I did during this time. This man had a love of English, history, and the world around us like very few others I've met, so I'll keep you posted as to how I get on in my search!

Seven Towers Ltd was set up as a not for profit company in 2006 by a group of friends who loved great literature and wanted to play a part in the cultural scene. They knew of a great many superb writers and poets, who, because of the size of the Irish Market, were not finding publishers and exposure to the public. Thus they began publishing and agenting books and setting up readings, and have continued to do so since then.
