Meeting friends, old and new!

A really lovely evening last night in RUA RED Arts Centre. It was terrific to catch up with so many old and new friends for a night of Circle & Square (Fiery Arrow Press) edited by Eileen Casey.

Crime Fiction Hits Culture Night at the IWC!!

CRIME FICTION hit Culture Night at the Irish Writers' Centre with a bang. Readings from mise, Patricia Gibney, Niamh Brennan, Susan Condon, Carolann Copeland, Tara Sparling, Jackie Walsh, Trish Kean Nugent and Darren Darker.....over 250 guests and overall a great success!!

RED LINE BOOK FESTIVAL 14th - 19th October!!!

This festival has been going from strength to strength, and indeed, has been shortlisted in the 2014 Chambers of Ireland Award for Excellence in Local Government. It's a terrific festival with lots happening, so check out the full programme HERE 

Last year I took part in Lady Killers at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght with Alex Barclay, Arlene Hunt, Joanne Richardson and Susan Condon, and it was a great night.

The festival kicks off on Tuesday the 16th September with a pre-festival coffee morning, and I'm delighted to be a guest speaker at the event. I'll be talking about the importance of libraries and the literary and cultural vibrancy in South Dublin, along with a short reading from LAST KISS......

I hope many of you take part in the festival this year, and make it another memorable year!!

Publication Day!

So after a year of beginnings, middles, and ends, the day is finally here! Publication of THE DOLL'S HOUSE!!! Contrary to common opinion though, PUBLICATION DAY may be mammoth to the author, a deep emotional heart string pulled, and a gift to myself of a lie in until 7.30 a.m. this morning, but it is slightly different out there in the real world.

For Irish visitors to the site, The Doll's House will start appearing on shelves in the next few days as boxes get delivered and are unpacked. Always thinking of you, perhaps it's best to hold off for about 3/4 days to make that visit into town, or wherever you intend to pick up a copy. 

Even better, those you who are hoping to make the launch next Wednesday at 6.30 in the Gutter bookshop Cow's Lane, can pick up a personalised signed copy there!

For all other visitors from the rest of the world, YOU CAN NOW ORDER on either Amazon UK or Amazon . Com !

I heard yesterday that if you live in the States and order visa the amazon.co.uk site, you will get delivery within a few days for 2-3 dollars postage, and for free if you bundle a few books - the world is getting smaller folks!!

My name is SUE!!

DAY 5 of the RED RIBBONS blog tour is in the very capable hands of Sue (aka Susan) Condon. Many of you may know Susan already, but if you don't, well while visiting her blog, have a good look around. There will be plenty for you to see, but I'll put a short bio below either way.

 

It's only three days to launch night, so things are getting really exciting. I plan that after all of the madness/wonder is over, to do a kind of visual recounting of events, but for now, I'll give you one very special picture from Friday night, when the wonderful John Connolly gave me this!
